The students from The Pottery Studio are currently in the process of building a gardening area for people with disabilities. You may see this as you wander around the farm. It is located behind the pony ride paddock.
Autism Initiatives approached Farmer Parr’s over 10 years ago with the view of setting up a workshop, where adults with autism could develop their social and work skills in a friendly environment. The project has been growing and developing ever since.
The dedicated team who work at The Pottery Studio provide a realistic work environment where they manufacture, produce and sell pottery on site.
The work shop was one of the first in the country and has been a phenomenal success in the development of the students.
Students travel up to 30 miles to attend work on a daily basis.
The FRIENDSHIP APPEAL has been launched to raise £250,000 to extend the facilities to offer an opportunity for more people to attend and use this tremendous facility.
Children visiting the farm have the opportunity to paint pottery in the studio, often assisted by the students.
Groups and parties may also book visits.
